Emergency Management Publications/Videos Available to the General Public for Download

National Response Framework (NRF).   A foundation document that describes how government and non government enties will organize and cooperate from the Federal to local levels.

National Incident Management System (NIMS).  The NIMS decribes how the NRF will be implemented and how the major components of incident management will be integrated and used at all levels of response and for indicents of all causes and sizes.

Emergency Resource Guide: The Emergency Resource Guide is produced jointly by the Washington State Department of Health and Washington Military Department Emergency Management Division. This 44 page guide is full of useful Information to help you plan and prepare for a variety of emergency situations such as terrorism, biological agents, and nature and weather disasters.

Washington State Emergency Management Division (EMD) Publications On-Line:  A large number of preparedness publications are available for down-load on the EMD web site.  Most types of hazards are covered.

Emergency Response Guide (ERG): On-line version of basic chemical and hazardous matrerials guide published by the U.S. Department of Transportation.  The ERG is an extensive listing of hazardous materials, characteristics, safety guidelines, and clean-up information.  An important reference for anyone, any business, or activity that routinely handles, stores, or transports hazardous or toxic materials.
