Fire Station Vehicle Exhaust Systems
Camano Island Fire & Rescue (Island County Fire District # One) will accept sealed written proposals for the complete installation of new horizontal aluminum trolley track style Fire Station Vehicle Exhaust Extraction Systems, to be installed within two (2) existing fire stations on Camano Island.
The proposed new exhaust systems must be fully compatible and standardized with the existing Nederman manufactured exhaust equipment already in operation within other fire district owned facilities on Camano, so as to maintain both continuity and standardization within all fire stations and between fire apparatus here. Proposals must include a statement of warranty and any product operational manuals.
Bidders must affirm to provide "turn-key ready" systems, including all required costs for necessary components and controls such as, but not limited to: track mounted disconnect switches and / or any door activation switches, any needed local, state, or compliance inspection permits, and utilize flexible rubber collection hoses. An ignition key switched and wireless signal control module activated fan motor circuit - using magnetic individual vehicle anchor plates - disconnect design must be employed. Proposals must include a total of seven exhaust service drop connections between the two separate fire station buildings.
Fan motor anchors should utilize vibration isolators providing at least 1 inch static deflection. A remote wall mounted control panel with H-A-O switches, all wire and conduit, all fasteners and related system devices, mounting brackets, adjustable tension balancers shall also be included as needed. The control panel shall include an indicator lamp for fan motor operation, including an on-off position function.
The wireless signal transmitters for the fire apparatus will be installed internally, (and without cost to the bidder), by the fire district repair garage staff. Collection nozzles must be designed to operate free of tension or stress and must be constructed of rubber with a minimum of metal components within. Systems shall be tested, adjusted, and fully operational prior to final acceptance or payment.

Sealed proposals must be physically received prior to January 11th, 2010, not later than 4PM, at 811 N.
The fire district reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all bids submitted.
Successful bidders will be required to submit a signed verification of federal funding debarment exclusion certification form prior to award.
Sealed proposals will be opened and recorded during a regular board of fire commissioners meeting in January 2010. Subsequent award of the contract(s) will be announced after fire staff has reviewed each of the proposals.
The successful bidder must complete any said work prior to August 1st, 2010.
