Identifying the Potential for Intrinsic Sleep Disorders in the Stanwood Camano Fire Department- The purpose of this research  is to identify the potential for intrinsic sleep disorders in the Stanwood Camano Fire Department membership and the associated health and safety risks of those disorders.  To achieve this, descriptive research was used to answer the five questions: what is the number of SCFD members that test positive for potentially having intrinsic sleep disorders, what are the health risks associated with intrinsic sleep disorders, what are the numbers of Stanwood Camano members that have previously been diagnosed with intrinsic sleep disorders, what are the safety risks associated with intrinsic sleep disorders and what type of sleep disorder trends were currently found in SCFD members.

A related publication titled Effects of Sleep Deprivation on Fire Fighters and EMS Responderssupported by a cooperative agreement between the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA), with assistance from the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University is also a recommended publication for review.
